LG Pathfinders — Behaviour & Conduct Policy
Location: London Ghana Seventh-day Adventist Church
1. Introduction
The LG Pathfinder Club is committed to creating a Christ-centered, respectful, and safe environment for all Pathfinders, leaders, volunteers, and families. This Behaviour & Conduct Policy explains the standards we expect at meetings, camps, community service activities, and online interactions. All members and guardians must read and agree to this policy before participating in club activities.
2. Core Values
2.1 Christian Character
- Demonstrate kindness, honesty, humility, and forgiveness.
- Live by Biblical principles and the Pathfinder Pledge & Law.
- Treat others as you would like to be treated.
2.2 Respect
- Show respect to leaders, fellow Pathfinders, church members, and visitors.
- Use respectful language and gestures at all times.
- Respect property, equipment, and the uniform.
2.3 Safety
- Follow safety instructions given by leaders and instructors.
- Use equipment only under supervision and in a safe manner.
2.4 Teamwork & Cooperation
- Participate positively and support other Pathfinders.
- Seek peaceful, biblically-guided solutions to disagreements.
3. Expected Behaviour
- Attend regularly and arrive on time for meetings and events.
- Wear the correct uniform when required and maintain it with pride.
- Listen to and follow instructions from leaders.
- Speak politely to everyone and include others in activities.
- Care for club property and equipment.
- Limit mobile phone use during club activities unless permitted.
- Use social media responsibly and never bully or denigrate others online.
- Report safety concerns or incidents to a leader immediately.
4. Unacceptable Behaviour
The following actions are strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action:
- Bullying, intimidation, harassment or exclusion of others.
- Use of foul, abusive, or disrespectful language.
- Fighting, assault, or unsafe physical behaviour.
- Damaging or stealing property.
- Possession of weapons, illegal drugs, alcohol, or other prohibited items.
- Inappropriate touching or sexualised behaviour.
- Deliberately undermining the authority of leaders or the club.
5. Discipline Process
Leaders will apply discipline fairly, consistently, and pastorally. The process may include:
- Step 1 — Verbal Warning: A gentle reminder from a leader.
- Step 2 — Reflection/Temporary Removal: Time to reflect or temporary removal from an activity.
- Step 3 — Behaviour Report & Parent Meeting: Incident recorded and parents/guardians informed.
- Step 4 — Suspension: Temporary suspension from club activities for repeated or serious misconduct.
- Step 5 — Review/Removal: In extreme or persistent cases, membership may be reviewed and revoked.
Leaders will always seek to act in the best interests of the child and will involve parents/guardians at appropriate stages.
6. Responsibilities of Parents / Guardians
- Support your child in following this policy and the Pathfinder values.
- Communicate respectfully with leaders and provide relevant health or behavioural information.
- Ensure timely collection/drop-off and that permission forms are completed for events.
- Model Christ-like behaviour and cooperation with the club’s leaders and volunteers.
7. Leader Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centred environment for all Pathfinders.
- Treat every child and family with fairness, dignity and respect.
- Lead by example in conduct, spiritual life and safeguarding practice.
- Respond compassionately and promptly to concerns and incidents.
8. Media & Photography
Photos and video may be taken during club activities for reports, promotion, and social media. If you do not want images of your child used, please notify club leadership in writing. The club will follow safeguarding guidelines when publishing images.
9. Commitment & Agreement
By ticking the below box, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to follow the Golden Knight Pathfinders Behaviour & Conduct Policy. I understand that breaches of this policy may lead to disciplinary action and that leaders will act fairly and in the best interests of all children.
