Age Group: About 12 years
Overview
The Explorer class focuses on deeper skill development, leadership beginnings, and stronger spiritual formation. Explorers gain responsibility in planning and executing activities and begin mentoring younger Pathfinders.
Spiritual Aims
- Encourage a consistent personal walk with Christ
- Apply Scripture to leadership and decision-making
- Foster a heart for service and outreach
Curriculum / Topics
- Deeper Bible study & memory work (book studies)
- Advanced first-aid: casualty assessment, CPR basics (where permitted)
- Navigation: map reading, basic compass bearings
- Camping skills: tent pitching, fire safety, cooking for groups
- Leadership basics: planning, delegation, public speaking
- Project-based honours and service planning
Skills & Honours Focus
Honours such as First Aid (intermediate), Camping Skills, Navigation, Leadership, and Nature study.
Assessment & Completion
- Complete 2–3 honours or equivalent projects
- Lead a small activity or teach a skill to peers
- Reflection on spiritual growth and service participation
