Age Group: About 11 years
Overview
The Companion class builds on the Friend foundation with increased Bible learning, practical life skills, and more refined teamwork. Companions learn responsibility in small tasks and begin structured honours work.
Spiritual Aims
- Grow in personal devotion and group worship
- Apply Biblical principles to everyday situations
- Encourage servant-hearted attitudes
Curriculum / Topics
- Bible study: selected stories with application questions
- Personal hygiene & healthy living basics
- Intermediate first-aid: bandaging, treating minor burns
- Outdoor awareness: compass basics, trail safety
- Cooking basics: safe use of stoves and meal planning
- Intro to honours and record-keeping
Skills & Honours Focus
Honours such as Personal Health, Basic First Aid, Cooking (intro), Nature, and Teamwork.
Assessment & Completion
- Practical tasks and a short quiz on Bible and safety topics
- Completion of at least one basic honour
- Leader and parent confirmation of progress
