Voyager

Age Group: About 14 years

Overview

The Voyager class prepares older Pathfinders for senior leadership and advanced life skills. Voyagers are expected to show independence in planning, demonstrate high standards of conduct, and complete significant honours and service projects.

Spiritual Aims

  • Encourage a mature, personal Christian faith
  • Equip students for witness and service in wider society
  • Develop discipleship habits that last into adulthood

Curriculum / Topics

  • In-depth Bible topics, doctrine, and apologetics
  • Large-scale project management and service leadership
  • Advanced navigation and expedition leadership
  • Outdoor survival & advanced ropework
  • Specialist honours related to career skills and community service
  • Training for peer mentoring and assistant instructing

Skills & Honours Focus

Honours such as Advanced Navigation, Project Leadership, Environmental Stewardship, Advanced First Aid, and vocational skills that support future careers.

Assessment & Completion

  • Lead a major community project or expedition
  • Complete a portfolio of honours and mentor younger Pathfinders
  • Receive leader recommendation for senior leadership roles

Suggested Meeting Structure (Flexible; includes field weekends)

  1. Spiritual study / discussion (15–20 min)
  2. Project work or honours sessions (60+ mins)
  3. Field planning and practical training (variable)
  4. Reflection and leadership debrief (15 min)
