Age Group: About 10 years (entry-level)
Overview
The Friend class introduces younger Pathfinders to the club: simple Bible truths, basic outdoor awareness, social skills, and the joy of serving God with others. It focuses on making the first steps in faith, community, and practical learning in a safe, encouraging environment.
Spiritual Aims
- Begin daily devotional habits (short prayer & Bible reading)
- Understand basic Bible stories and the love of Jesus
- Introduce the Pathfinder Pledge & Law in age-appropriate language
Curriculum / Topics
- Intro to Pathfinder values & uniform care
- Simple Bible stories and memory verses (4–6 per term)
- Basic first-aid: washing wounds, calling for help
- Nature walk: identify 5 local plants/trees
- Simple knots: overhand, figure-of-eight
- Team games and cooperative play
Skills & Honours Focus
Beginner honours: Nature (intro), Personal Care, Simple First Aid, Teamwork skills, Basic Crafts.
Assessment & Completion
- Practical demonstration of 3–4 simple skills
- Recite a short verse or Lesson summary
- Leader sign-off on participation and attitude
