Age Group: About 15 years (senior Pathfinder)
Overview
The Guide class readies Pathfinders for leadership within the club and community. Guides develop advanced technical skills, spiritual maturity, teaching ability, and often begin assistant-instructor roles. This class is a pathway to Master Guide and long-term service.

- Commit to a mature, self-led Christian life
- Lead others in discipleship and service
- Model Christian leadership in public and private life
Curriculum / Topics
- Teaching & instruction methods for honours and classes
- Advanced leadership, administration, and event management
- Advanced outdoor skills & expedition leadership
- Safeguarding, mentoring, and pastoral care basics
- Project supervision and club development strategies
- Preparation for Master Guide pathways (if available)
Skills & Honours Focus
Higher-level honours, instructional awards, leadership projects, safeguarding awareness, and community partnership projects.
Assessment & Completion
- Lead and deliver teaching sessions to younger Pathfinders
- Complete a leadership portfolio and project report
- Receive leader assessment for readiness to progress to Master Guide
Suggested Meeting Structure (Project & leadership focused)
- Personal devotion & leadership reflection (15 min)
- Teaching practice & peer feedback (45–60 min)
- Project planning or community partnership work (60+ min)
- Mentoring younger Pathfinders and debrief (15 min)
